In 1999, Ukrainian businessman and owner of the Biz-TV channel Vladimir Kostyuk, inspired by the success of the Russian "Brilliant" and Western "Spice Girls", decided to launch a similar Ukrainian project. He called Konstantin Meladze for the role of a music producer. One of the first approved soloists was Alena Vinnitskaya, who previously worked as a host on Biz-TV. Thanks to the casting, Meladze and Kostyuk found two more girls: Marina Modina and Yulia Miroshnichenko. But in the process of working on Attempt No. 5, it was decided to leave Alena alone and freeze the project for a while, continuing to search for suitable soloists.

When Nadezhda Granovskaya appeared on the horizon, it was decided to retrain the trio into a duet, in which Vinnitskaya got the role of the leading soloist. Initially, the group was supposed to be called "Silver". There are several versions about where the name "Viagra" came from. According to one of them, VIA is a vocal and instrumental ensemble, "gra" in Ukrainian means a game. Some believe that Viagra is a derivative of the names and surnames of the vocalists (Vi-Vinnitskaya, A- Alena, Gra- Granovskaya). But the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "Viagra" - the famous drug that increases male potency. By the way, bringing out the V.I.A. Initially, critics considered Viagra to be a one-hit group and predicted its short-lived fame. Alena (Olga) Vinnitskaya was born on December 27, 1974 in the capital of Ukraine. Almost immediately after graduation, she met her future husband, who at that time performed in the Seven team. From 1997 to 2000, Vinnitskaya successfully combined the professions of a VJ and a reporter on music TV channels and a DJ on radio stations. On Biz-TV, she hosted the Ukrainian Twenty, which was also broadcast on the Russian MTV. It was there that she met Kostyuk, who invited her to join the Viagra group. However, Nadezhda did not plan to stay on maternity leave for a long time, and a month later she returned to VIA-Gra in full combat readiness. From the very morning there were numerous interviews with local publications, photo shoots for men's magazines, performances in clubs.

In November, another disc was presented, called "Biology". Its release took place at the New Manege, where the VIA-Gra group received the prestigious NFPF prize - the Golden Disc for their first works Attempt No. 5 and Stop, Filmed! In support of the new program, the girls went on tour to the countries of Southeast Asia, and also visited: Belarus, Germany, Israel, Estonia.

The tracks "Don't leave me, darling", "Kill my girlfriend", a joint composition with "Ocean and Three Rivers" made the girls laureates of the "Song of the Year" award. In December 2003, the VIA-Gra group participated in numerous entertainment projects dedicated to the New Year.

In March 2004, Anna Sedakova left the team, who married the famous Ukrainian football player Valentin Belkevich. The girl was in an interesting position, so as not to aggravate the course of pregnancy, she decided to take maternity leave. In its place, the producers approved the eccentric and characteristic. She was distinguished by a peculiar manner of singing, behaved uninhibitedly on stage, trying to outshine the other participants in the project. Therefore, soon Kostyuk recognized his decision as hasty, and began to look for a replacement for the eccentric participant.

Salvation for the team was, which long time worked as a backing vocalist for Valery Meladze. With her arrival, a new scandal erupted, fans accused her of not matching the image of the group, as well as a love affair with Valery Meladze. Curiosities continued in 2005, when the blonde of the group, Vera Brezhneva, was injured while skiing.

Soon the group "VIA-Gra" recorded a joint composition with the popular Ukrainian group "Tank on the Maidan Congo" - "There is nothing worse." This track became a nominee for the prestigious music award "Muz-TV" in the category "Best Duet", "Best Pop Group".

In December 2005, the VIA-Gra team overtook a serious creative crisis, its leaders announced the closure of the project. In addition, Nadezhda Granovskaya and Vera Brezhneva left the group. Nevertheless, "Viagryanki" remained afloat, but their composition was constantly updated. Christina Kots-Gotlieb, who replaced her, became the new participants. To avoid a complete collapse, the producers released several clips: “Deceive, but stay”, “Flower and Knife”, “L.M.L.”.

In the spring of 2007, a rotation took place again, and came to the group. The VIA-Gra group, renewed once again, presented the video “My emancipaition”, which became a hit.

Unexpected back-up

In early 2009, Konstantin Meladze announced that the busty brunette Nadezhda Gravnovskaya was returning to the team. Meseda had to give way to the ex-soloist, who improved her vocal abilities during her vacation. A few months later, after Bagaudinova, Tatyana Kotova left with a scandal. A graduate of the Ukrainian "Star Factory" became a new member of the group.

The following year, the VIA-Gra gels band got into the worst nomination - Disappointment of the Year, which caused the departure of its founder Dmitry Kostyuk from the team. In the summer, Konstantin Meladze and his wards performed at the international song contest "New Wave", where he denied rumors about the termination of the project.

In the fall of 2011, it became known that Granovskaya was pregnant and was leaving the once popular VIA-Gra group. The last member of the team was another contestant "Star Factory". The verdict on the project was made by the second award of the figurine "Disappointment of the Year" to the girl band. On January 1, 2013, the group officially ceased to exist.

New project by Dmitry Kostyuk

After the collapse of the popular group of zero "VIA-Gra", litigation began between the "fathers" of the project - Kostyuk and Meladze. This year is becoming very fruitful in terms of creativity of the team. The group began active rehearsals with Vera, and Anna Sedokova also starred in Valery Meladze's video for the song "I Can't Live Without You." A video clip is being shot for the single "Don't leave me, darling!", which is considered one of the best singles in the history of the group. On April 14, the band's second album, Stop! Taken!" The band's second studio album is more likely to be called a maxi-single, since there are more remixes than the songs themselves, and the songs themselves were for the most part already known by the time the album was released. This is the only Russian-language album of the group, for which already released songs were covered by a new line-up. Over 500,000 copies of the album were sold in the first 6 months. A duet is being formed - VIA Gra and Valery Meladze. Collaboration for the end of 2003 - the beginning of 2004, which bore fruit in the form of the songs "Ocean and Three Rivers" and "There is No More Attraction", as well as the video clips shot on them. Everything developed rapidly, "VIA Gra" put forward more and more new singles and video clips.

2004-2005 In 2004, due to pregnancy, Anna Sedokova leaves the group. On an emergency basis, they are looking for a replacement for her, which is found in the person of Svetlana Loboda, but the replacement turned out to be not equivalent.
June 4, 2004 VIA Gra wins the Muz-TV 2004 award. A video clip for the single "Biology" is being shot, which caused a rather mixed reaction among the audience.
Nevertheless, Svetlana is “not accepted” by fans, who immediately draw analogies between her and Anna Sedokova, as well as criticizing her behavior.
The group continues to perform in various television programs, in particular in the "Total Show", as well as in the third musical with its participation, which is called "Sorochinsky Fair". Later, the song from this musical is released as a full-fledged single from one of the group's albums.
At the same time, the former soloist of the group Anna Sedokova gives several interviews in which she speaks very impartially about the new soloist - Svetlana. In the same year, the pan-European release of the album Stop! Stop! Stop! Despite this, slight dissatisfaction with Svetlana grew and it was decided to part with her. Svetlana is currently pursuing a solo career. In place of Loboda, they take Albina Dzhanabaeva, who worked for a long time on backing vocals with Valery Meladze and, as it turns out later, has a child in common with him, who got into the group on his recommendation. The group receives an award at the RMA-04 ceremony for the song "There is no more attraction" performed with Valery Meladze. The clip "The World I Didn't Know Before You" is released.
2005 began with trouble. Vera Brezhneva, skiing, suffered a spinal injury. However, Vera had no complications. Another duet work appears on public display - with the TNMK rap team, popular in Ukraine. The clip is called "There is nothing worse." As before, there are programs with the participation of VIA Gra. For example, the “Rally” with Vera, “Saturday Evening”, “Full Contact”, shown on Channel One, on which the group “Brilliant”, “Big Premiere” and many, many others were defeated with a huge margin in the musical battle. "VIA Gra" continues to excite the media: filming in the magazines "Maxim", "7 Days", publications in "Hammer" and "Komsomolskaya Pravda".

When Nadezhda Granovskaya appeared on the horizon, it was decided to retrain the trio into a duet, in which Vinnitskaya got the role of the leading soloist. Initially, the group was supposed to be called "Silver". There are several versions about where the name "Viagra" came from. According to one of them, VIA is a vocal and instrumental ensemble, "gra" in Ukrainian means a game. Some believe that Viagra is a derivative of the names and surnames of the vocalists (Vi-Vinnitskaya, A- Alena, Gra- Granovskaya). But the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "Viagra" is the famous drug that increases male potency. By the way, bringing out the V.I.A. "Gra" into the English-language music market, Sony Music management received a pre-trial claim from tablet manufacturers. Therefore, in the West, the group is known under the pseudonym Nu Virgos.
