My dear friend, Timofey Kondratyevich, invited me yesterday to the opening of the Sofia festival. The festival takes place in the hall of church cathedrals located in the basement of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. I went to respect my friend, and it was just very interesting to visit this informal place. Immediately here a question arises from me, a neophyte, about the appropriateness of such entertainment events in the immediate scope of the holy place. I can say that as a result of the visit, I came to the conclusion that it should be easier here, and there is a significant proportion of pharisaism in the condemnation of such a possibility. In the plinth on the other side there is an exhibition hall, which somehow does not raise any special questions. The main thing is that the format of the event coincides with the format of the place.
I can say that folk music and songs sound great in this beautiful hall. Last year, this festival of small towns opened in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, which smelled of dull officialdom. Here, the performance of amateur artists, and the chic orchestra of folk instruments and the bass Vladimir Motorin himself were heard in a completely different way.
The hall itself has an interesting open architecture and has no walls, from above it is surrounded by enfilades, with one of which I took this picture. In addition to the central parterre, there are three more wings of the amphitheater-balcony. The hall is decorated with columns, somewhere of the type of church, which depicts not only saints, but secular authorities who hold them ... Tsar Mikhail and his son Alexei Michalovich, Alexander 1-2-3, and of course, Nicholas II were honored to be depicted on the columns.
The performances of the artists, the famous bass, the orchestra were listened to with great pleasure. There was also joy for the friend who was sincerely involved in this event and the overall impression.
I must say that as in a restaurant, in addition to the quality of food, the memory of a visit depends very much on the presentation, interior, location and even the view from the window. And here, among these walls, folk music sounded beautifully. The performers' faces were glowing, the acoustics were good, especially for vocal singing. Vladimir Motorin himself was ill that day and therefore gave a rooster a couple of times, but he could not refuse to participate in this significant event for him.

Timofey Kondratievich took me to the banquet after the event. While he was courting the organizers, and I was portraying the people and the army next to him, the participants and sponsors of the event took out the entire buffet in five minutes :)) As a result, I got only pies and one teftelin with potatoes ..

And there were also green spaces around the hall with some birds of paradise .. Adams and Evas are not allowed in!

The central church of Orthodoxy in Russia is the church in honor of Christ the Savior. The current temple has been resurrected from the past.
