Ventilation valves for plastic windows. Supply valve for plastic windows: let the apartment breathe! Double-glazed windows ventilation

In the apartment where the plastic windows, there is a low level of heat loss. Noise from the street is not audible. However, such products also have their drawbacks. They contribute to air stagnation in the apartment and the formation of condensation. This can lead to the formation of fungus and cause various diseases respiratory tract. The supply valve for plastic windows will solve the problem, reviews of which will allow you to choose and install the ventilation element correctly. Advice from experts and ordinary users will help you make the best choice.

Disadvantages of plastic windows

In order to understand the need to install a supply valve, you should read the reviews about the main disadvantages of plastic windows.

The absence of drafts, in comparison with wooden windows, is, on the one hand, the advantage of the presented products. However, ventilation has to be done by opening the flaps. V winter period this procedure leads to large heat losses.

When the windows are closed, odors and carbon dioxide stagnate in the rooms. Without a supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, according to user reviews, condensation forms and the humidity of the air constantly rises. This is not a healthy state of the home environment. The supply valve for plastic windows, reviews of which will be discussed further, is able to prevent the development of fungus and mold, remove condensate.

In order not to negate all the functions of plastic windows, the presented device should be used.

Main characteristics

The supply valve is a device that performs ventilation functions. It is installed on top of the window sash and is located horizontally. According to the reviews of experts and ordinary users, supply ventilation valves on plastic windows eliminate high humidity and condensation, and also maintain a healthy indoor climate.

This device has several advantages. The supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, reviews of which are presented in our review, does not change the window opening. It does not create drafts, no heat loss occurs, and no sounds from the street are heard. The supply of fresh air is sufficient. According to reviews, supply ventilation valves for plastic windows can be adjusted.

Another positive quality is the ease of installation of this device.

Principle of operation

After reviewing the reviews of expert installers, we can conclude that the supply ventilation valve for plastic windows must be correctly installed to perform its functions in full.

Installation involves removing part of the rubber seal on the sash and window frame. Instead, a special, thinner material will be installed. The supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, reviews of which are mostly positive, is installed together with a new seal.

Through the presented device, outside air enters the apartment, and the moist internal masses are pushed out through the ventilation ducts back out. The circulation process takes place due to the pressure difference.

Valve assemblies

After reading the reviews of professional installers about the supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, you can get an idea of its device. The product consists of several parts.

The outer side is outside the window. She takes in air from the outside. A visor must be installed above the outside, which will prevent water or snow from entering the valve.

Supply ventilation valves for plastic windows, reviews of which were provided by experts, also have a telescopic channel. It passes through the frame, that is, it cuts into the plastic of the frame body and is fixed with a sleeve.

The interior is located directly inside the room. It is a unit consisting of an exhaust nozzle, a simple filter and a mechanism for adjusting the ability to pass air.

Basic requirements for work

According to reviews from experts in the field of ventilation technology, supply ventilation valves for plastic windows operate under certain conditions.

Automatic extraction takes place if the outside temperature does not exceed +5 ° С. Otherwise, ventilation stops its work, therefore its implementation should be carried out in a compulsory way.

The supply reviews, which we are considering today, function correctly provided that the ventilation in the apartment is functioning properly.

Also the slots under interior doors must be at least 2 cm. Entrance door must close tightly.

Valve types

According to consumer reviews, there are a great many models of supply valves for plastic windows. According to the material from which they are made, there are metal, wood or plastic products.

According to the control method, there is an automatic and manual supply ventilation valve for plastic windows. Feedback from consumers makes it clear that automatic varieties are more convenient to use. They determine independently when to open or close the ventilation hole. Moreover, the settings can be set based on the indicators of humidity and pressure drops inside the room.

Manual control involves changing the opening / closing of the ventilation hole using a special rope. The required level is selected The profile may freeze due to incorrect adjustment in the winter. That is why most consumer reviews are inclined to choose automatic supply valves for plastic windows.

Air intake

According to the method of air entering the room, there are folded, slotted and overhead ventilation valves on plastic windows. Reviews of people who have tried the presented devices in their premises indicate the following.

One of the most economical options are seam supply valves. In this case, cold air enters through small cutouts in the vestibule. In this case, the windows do not need to be dismantled. However, such designs are quite low.

A higher throughput, according to consumer reviews, is possessed by slotted supply ventilation valves on plastic windows. They are also installed without dismantling the windows.

However, the air is best permeated by the attachments. Their only drawback is the need to adjust the opening to the size of the valve. If a double-glazed unit is installed, this type of product will not work.

Handle valve

The handle valve is a very convenient device. It is installed instead of an ordinary window handle. Of the advantages of this device, it should be noted that there are no changes in the appearance of the window.

These are quite interesting supply valves for plastic windows. User reviews assure that the ventilation valve in this case can be located where condensation is most often collected on the window.

It is a very effective device for removing moisture. Such a valve does not freeze, as it has a straight-through design. Also, the handle valve has a built-in filter that does not let dust into the room.

Valve selection

Among the many options for models on the market for such ventilation technology, you can get lost.

More popular are manufacturers with a good history that have long existed on the supply valve market. These are conscientious companies that have confirmed the quality of their products over the years of responsible work.

According to consumer reviews, high-quality supply valves for plastic windows are produced by manufacturers such as Siegenia, Rehau and Aereco.

The main rule when choosing the presented products is not to skimp on quality. It should also be understood that the possibility of severe frosts must also be taken into account when choosing a supply valve for plastic windows. Reviews say that if the temperature outside the window drops below -30 ° C, then the external elements of many structures freeze, and there is a constant flow of cold air.

Supply ventilation on plastic windows allows you to constantly maintain a favorable microclimate in the room. We will discuss this aspect in detail below.

Plastic windows provide almost complete sealing of the room. In the harsh Russian climate, this is a huge plus. In the warm season, the lack of oxygen is solved simply by airing, but in winter such a measure is impossible due to severe frosts. Lack of fresh air is fraught with many problems:

  • Misting windows.
  • The appearance of mold and mildew on the slopes.
  • Musty air. This creates discomfort in the room.
  • Young children may develop allergic reactions.

Additional ventilation in a room with plastic windows is provided by installing special valves. They have various design features, but their main purpose is to let outside air into the room without temperature losses. They cope with this function, albeit with varying degrees of efficiency.

Tip: In most windows, you can adjust the closing density. In the warm season, expose the shutters in summer mode- in this case, the frames will not close too tightly, which will allow oxygen to enter the room.

When is the organization of additional air circulation necessary:

  • If small children live in the house. As mentioned, lack of oxygen can be detrimental to their health.
  • Indoors with many plants. Without oxygen, they will simply die out.
  • When the house is warmed up with convectors or oil radiators. Such heaters dry the air monstrously.
  • In production. In workshops (if they are associated with toxic substances), it is necessary to organize the maximum supply of fresh air.

All known varieties

A ventilation valve for plastic windows is only a seemingly simple device. It is subdivided into several varieties that have significant design differences... You should know them in order to find the best option.

This is the simplest, and most importantly the cheapest option. With their help, street air enters the room through small cutouts. The main advantages of this technology are as follows:

  • Low cost.
  • There is no need to dismantle installed PVC windows.
  • It guarantees the preservation of the soundproof properties of the glass unit.
  • High speed and ease of installation.
  • The possibility of automation.

Among all the advantages, there is one, but a very important disadvantage - weak bandwidth. Because of this, folded ventilation at closed windows has poor efficiency.

Slotted

Fresh air enters the room through special ducts. Usually they have a size in the range of 160-400 by 10-16 mm. As a rule, such a valve is equipped with two blocks - an inlet and a regulating one. On more advanced models, it is one (universal). Technology advantages:

  • Absolute protection against external factors(precipitation, insects). This is ensured by the presence of a regulating unit.
  • High (in our case, medium) transmitting capacity.
  • Can be used without dismantling the glass unit.

There is only one serious disadvantage in this case - a relatively complex installation. However, some models are devoid of even such a drawback (more on that later). Therefore, this category is the most popular now.

Overhead

In residential premises, such structures are practically not used. This is due to their serious disadvantages:

  • The thermal insulation properties of windows are seriously reduced.
  • Soundproofing is reduced to almost zero.
  • It is possible to install such a supply ventilation valve only before the installation of a double-glazed window. In particular, the size of the opening needs to be adjusted.

However, this technology has found wide application in the industrial field. The main reason for this is the highest throughput.

Market leaders - Aereco and Air-box

The domestic valve market was 90% occupied by two manufacturers Aereco (France) and Air-box (Russia). You should be aware of the features of their products:

High-quality and practical option

Valves from Aereco are a cover plate that has an attractive appearance(there are color variations) that fits into any interior. The most optimal installation option is during the manufacture of PVC windows. However, if the double-glazed windows are already in place, then the installation can also be done. To do this, you need to make a little drilling of the frames.

The device consists of 8 (16) moisture-sensitive plates. Depending on the humidity level, they can open or close the damper. Moreover, they do not need power supply for their work. The principle of operation is based on the physical law of thermal expansion.

You can even mount them into the wall. This method is used mainly in wooden buildings, because it is extremely difficult to mill concrete structures. From the point of view of its qualities, this manufacturer looks like the best analogue on the market. However, it has an important drawback - a high price (from 2,500 thousand rubles).

Cheaper analog

The Russian manufacturer air-box makes its products much simpler, which, at the same time, almost does not lag behind in efficiency from their more expensive "counterparts". Such models allow outside air to penetrate through the space between the frame and the sash. It leaks out thanks to the replacement of the standard seal. To control the air flow, you must move the regulator knob.

Such models are much simpler and require manual control. At the same time, they carry two very important advantages - low cost (on average from 400 rubles) and a simpler installation technique. Air-boxes are installed in two ways - by means of milling the frame (as in the previous manufacturer) and by replacing the seal (which will be discussed below).

Possible installation options

Forced ventilation in a window can be implemented in three ways, which vary greatly in complexity.

The most difficult method is to adjust the size of the opening.

The most time-consuming and costly method is associated with the installation of the above-mentioned overhead elements. They are mounted as follows:

  • The existing double-glazed window is removed.
  • The opening widens by the amount of the lining.
  • The double-glazed window is installed back.
  • An overlay is installed in the resulting gap.
  • The cracks are covered with cement mortar (or something similar).

The technique looks deadly laborious and unreasonable. Therefore, no one does work in this order, because it is fraught with cosmic expenditures of effort, time and money. It is necessary to take care of additional ventilation in advance, that is, before installing the double-glazed window.

The most thoughtful people, when ordering PVC windows, immediately plan to install an additional air supply. For this, the opening is made slightly wider than the double-glazed window requires. This technique is the most effective, and most importantly rational.

Assembly instructions for Aereco models

However, what to do if the glass unit is already installed? Aereco models are installed using a simpler method. It consists in the following:

  • A place for installing the channel is selected. If possible, this should be the least visible area.

Please note: additional window fittings should not interfere with installation. Consider this fact when choosing a location.

  • Then the markup is done.
  • We fasten the bar to the chosen place using special self-tapping screws for PVC structures.
  • We mark the location of the technological grooves on the vestibule.
  • We remove the bar. Using a drill and an electric jigsaw, we saw holes in the sash and the frame itself.
  • Set the bar again.
  • We fix the valve with special latches.

This procedure is relatively time consuming. In addition, it requires special tools that everyone has. Another factor is that a person without proper experience will not be able to do the job accurately. Conclusion - it is better to entrust the installation of such a device to a specialist.

Air-box - hassle-free installation

There is another technique that anyone can handle. The air-box manufacturer has created a model that can be assembled without the use of tools. The kit includes a special seal and PVC screws. The work is done in the following sequence:

  • We select the proposed installation location.
  • We cut off the standard seal (which is located on the sash) in this place.
  • Insert a new one (from the kit).
  • Remove the protective film from the valve.
  • We fix it in the place where the new seal is installed using special latches.
  • We close the flaps and make a mark on the frame along the length of the valve.
  • We cut off the existing seal in this place and install a new one in its place (the same one from the kit).

If something turned out to be incomprehensible to you, you can watch the video from the manufacturer itself. It will allow you to clearly understand everything.

The installation of sealed window structures entails a deterioration in the microclimate of the room: humidity rises, there is a lack of oxygen and air stuffiness. Problems can be easily solved by placing a supply valve on plastic windows - the device normalizes natural ventilation and stabilizes air exchange.

We will tell you how to choose the right ventilator to ensure the supply of fresh air to rooms with plastic window frames. We have described in detail the popular models of the device tested in practice. For independent home craftsmen, we provide detailed installation instructions.

The basis of a normal indoor microclimate is the presence of an effective one.

The air must constantly circulate - polluted with an excess of carbon dioxide is removed through the hoods, and clean air comes from outside.

The old imperfect designs did the job efficiently, providing sufficient airflow even in winter. Lack of wooden frames - poor noise and heat insulation

An attempt to restore air circulation by opening a window in ventilation mode cannot be considered a good solution for the following reasons:

  • pluses of "plastic" are reduced to zero - the efficiency of the room's thermal insulation is reduced;
  • ventilation works only when the window is open, which is especially problematic to organize in the cold season or in windy weather;
  • the air flow is uneven and uncontrolled - drafts appear.

Several manufacturers of window systems have taken into account the consequences of complete tightness and have improved the reinforced-plastic structures.

Violation of air exchange negatively affects the health and life of people. Condensation appears on the windows, slopes and walls become moldy - concentration toxic substances rises

Special ventilation fittings:

  • ventilated profiles;
  • opening stops;
  • partially breathable seals;
  • glazing beads with a regulating valve.

To ensure the flow of air through the previously installed window a supply valve is used.

The ventilation valve for plastic windows can solve many problems: drafts, stuffiness in the room, condensation on the glass, which leads to mold. The main advantage of modern window blocks made of PVC profile- tightness, turns into a disadvantage under certain conditions: when it is necessary to ventilate the room, but it is impossible to open the windows for various reasons (winter season, a sick child, etc.).

Ventilation modes are not always suitable: either drafts occur, or the gap between the frame and sash profile is too thin, due to which the required volumes of fresh air does not flow into the room.

  • folded;
  • slotted;
  • waybills.
Folding valve

The first two options are installed on windows that are already in use. Installation in this case can be done by hand. The slotted valve is equipped with an inlet and a regulating unit; in some models, a universal ventilation unit is provided - a combined version.

Outside, a protection (mosquito net) from litter and insects is installed on the slot. For ventilation, a slot is provided with a length of 170 to 400 mm and a width of no more than 16 mm.

The folded flap creates small gaps in the window rebate. This principle of operation does not provide high efficiency, but at the same time the sound insulation of the window is not disturbed. There is also a more effective design - a consignment note. However, this option is problematic to install with your own hands.

In addition, its efficiency is quite high, which can become a hindrance when creating a normal microclimate for a small dwelling. Therefore, such designs are more often used in production.

Ventilation wall view

The supply ventilation valves function according to the pressure difference principle. In this case, colder air is drawn into the room, and warm air comes from the valve. This is how passive ventilation works, so its efficiency drops when the outside temperature rises above +5 degrees. In order to increase the draft in the warm season, it is recommended to use a forced ventilation system.

Choice of design

In the case when condensation forms on the windows, the room is stuffy and it is necessary to frequently ventilate, adjust the fittings and check the seal. If no structural violations have been identified, you can consider the option of installing a supply valve on the window with your own hands.

The main selection criteria:

  • efficiency of work, which is determined by the parameters of the device and the number of people living in the apartment, for example, a sufficient rate of air exchange in a room for one person can provide an inflow of 30 cubic meters. m / h;
  • the noise level during valve operation should not exceed 35 dB;
  • so that in the cold season the valve does not ice up, the design must provide for a "thermal break" made of plastic, it is installed between the inner and outer surfaces of the valve body;
  • type of construction: slotted, folded - these are the main options that can be easily installed on the window with your own hands;
  • control method: automatic, manual or combined control.

Most popular designs: Aereco, Air-Box (Comfort, Comfort-S), Regel-Air. Each of the options has its own advantages, but almost all of them are easily installed by hand, except for the Comfort-S version, which is designed for a blind window and is mounted by milling in the upper part of the profile. The Comfort model represents a group of folded products.

Aereco products are available in a variety of options: oblique and straight jet. In addition, these valves are characterized by a wide functionality, since in addition to the main task, they provide normal level humidity in the room thanks to the hygrocontrol function. Regel-Air valves are a group of seam designs. Their feature is a movable plastic nib, which is responsible for adjusting the air flow.

Mounting

To avoid problems during installation, it is recommended to select certain designs: folded, slotted. The window should be free of foreign objects, remove the curtain. For installation in the window rebate, it is necessary to cut off a part of the sealing cord on the frame and sash.

This is easy to do with your own hands using a clerical knife. The valve itself is attached by means of dowels to the window sash.

Stages of installing the supply valve

To install the folded structure, you will need 3 self-tapping screws, a sealant that comes with the kit is laid between them. Usually a sufficient amount of material is supplied by the manufacturer. The valve is attached to the window profile by means of self-tapping screws.

Care and maintenance

Considering that dust enters the room together with the air flow, it is necessary to periodically clean the ventilation device. It is enough to do this once a year. Wipe with a soft cloth plastic surface and a sealant. Adjustment of the mechanism is preferable because the design, characterized by constant air flow parameters, does not provide optimal conditions in the room.

The best option is a device with automatic control, such models are equipped with moisture regulation sensors. Their principle of operation is based on monitoring the air humidity in the room, in accordance with this, a narrowing or expansion of the flow channel occurs.

Manual adjustment is carried out by changing the position of the damper. This method has a significant drawback, which is the difficulty of determining the desired position of the damper under various weather conditions.

Thus, the installation of a supply valve can significantly improve the microclimate in the room. If you plan to install it yourself, it is recommended to choose a slotted or folded model. Moreover, the second option is easier to implement, since for a slotted view it is required to make an even slot in the profile. On condition correct installation a number of problems can be avoided: condensation on windows, drafts, ineffective air exchange in the room.

With the advent of plastic windows, many people have appreciated their merits. Practical, comfortable, beautiful, they allow you to reduce the noise level in the apartment and avoid heat loss. Plastic windows have become an obligatory attribute in almost every home. But, after installing plastic windows, in addition to positive changes, people soon discover some side effects in the form of insufficient ventilation of the room. This creates an unhealthy indoor climate: stale air, high humidity, an obvious lack of oxygen, an increase in the concentration of toxic substances and microbes. In more unfavorable conditions, this can lead to fogging of the windows and the appearance of mold. All this happens due to the fact that, due to their tightness, plastic windows become an obstacle to the flow of fresh air into the room. That is why it makes sense to install a supply valve in a plastic window to improve ventilation.

What is the ventilation of the room for and how is it arranged

For a normal existence, air circulation is necessary. In the process of life, living organisms emit carbon dioxide and moisture. Contaminated air must be removed and replaced with fresh air, that is, ventilation is necessary. In the practice of housing construction, air circulation is carried out by a supply and exhaust ventilation... Warm polluted air rises up and is removed through the ventilation ducts, naturally or forcibly when the fan is installed. Instead of the removed air, clean air from the outside must be supplied. And this influx in classical housing construction is called "natural ventilation", which is carried out through the windows and air infiltration through the cracks in the wooden frames. You might think that the word "system" in this case is not entirely appropriate, since what kind of system is it from the ventilation duct opening and cracks in wooden windows? But this is a system, it is simply based on the familiar, and therefore invisible to us, the laws of physics. And the system is precisely because in order for one component to work - the removal of polluted air, another must be present - the supply of clean air, otherwise the polluted air will not be removed. And vice versa, in order for clean air to come in greater quantities from the outside, it is necessary to provide a more efficient exhaust ventilation system (create the necessary draft). Ventilated windows can successfully fulfill this function.

How to improve room ventilation

The issue of improving exhaust ventilation can be improved by simple actions. To do this, it is necessary: a sufficient section of the ventilation duct, its cleaning in case of contamination, the installation of a fan corresponding to the required volume of air exchange.

To solve the problem of improving the supply ventilation, it is necessary to organize the possibility of air constantly flowing into the room. Sealed metal-plastic windows prevent free air filtration from the outside. It is possible to ventilate the room only by opening the windows, which is not always convenient and logical, because then their main advantages of metal-plastic windows do not work: noise reduction and energy saving. Often it is not convenient to ventilate the room in winter, too. this creates drafts and discomfort from the currents of cold air, especially if the desk or bed is located next to a window. Yes, and to cool the room for 5-10 minutes, so that it would then be warmed up again, in our time, striving for energy saving is not reasonable. Slit ventilation in hinged windows is also not always a solution to the issue, because again, this is the depressurization of the window.

To supply air to the room, in addition to the traditional ventilation by opening the window sash, various ventilation systems and supply valves are being developed. Installation of a supply valve for ventilation - effective method improving the ventilation of the room by installing special windows with ventilation.

Supply ventilation valves to improve the indoor climate

The most common types of valves are wall and window valves. Wall valves come in different designs: from simple ones, protected by a grill on the outside and a plug on the inside, to electric ones using fans, filters and air heating. They are intended for a more global solution to the issue of supply ventilation, this is especially true where air conditioners are constantly used. In any case, the wall valve is basically a through hole in the outer wall, and for efficiency, the hole diameter should be quite impressive, from 12-16 cm.

Wall valve

The thickness of the walls in modern houses makes it impossible for the outside air to warm up to room temperature and additional measures are needed to heat it, because through such a hole, the flow of cold air is very noticeable. In fact, this idea has long been used in the construction of houses, but for its better implementation, the external entrance hole and the exit hole into the room should be located at different levels and they need to be laid even during the construction of the house. Well, now, before making a through hole in the wall, you need to seriously prepare for this, study different options and be sure that such a decision is justified.

Another type is window vents. The best thing is to take care of the ventilation of your home even at the stage of installing windows and immediately order them with a ventilation system. But for various reasons, many do not do this, despite the fact that the need for valves for ventilation in metal-plastic windows already specified in the building codes. Further in the article we will talk about how to make a supply ventilation valve on plastic windows with our own hands.

Window vent valve installed on the sash

How to arrange ventilation in plastic windows

Simple and practical supply valves, which are mounted on the frame and sash of the window, will help to provide supply ventilation in the already installed plastic windows (you get windows with ventilation). They are small and modern design, so that they will not affect the aesthetics of the room in any way, but they will help to improve ventilation in the house. Most importantly, they allow you to ventilate the room around the clock without opening windows. They are produced by different manufacturers and, depending on the configuration, they can provide a sufficient degree of noise protection and the required air volume. There are both manual and automatic ventilation valves that regulate the air flow according to the readings of the sensors. For example one of the most popular window valves AERECO operates on the principle of a hygrometer and regulates the air flow depending on the relative humidity in the room: the higher the humidity level, the wider the ventilator flap opens and more air enters the room. Thus, it is not necessary to constantly open and close the valve, but if necessary, the possibility of manual adjustment is provided. These valves are easy to install on windows. It is even possible to install such a vent valve yourself if you have experience with a jigsaw. The installation principle itself is not complicated, but certain skills are needed, and therefore, to install a window valve of the AEREKO type, which requires drilling a profile, it is better to turn to specialists.

For those who prefer to personally control the process of air supply through the valve, the Air-Box Comfort ventilator is suitable. The valve is installed in the window rebate without profile milling, thus preserving its integrity.

And it has one more remarkable advantage - it is an easy DIY installation of the supply valve. Therefore, the installation of a window valve of the Air-Box Comfort type is a quick and affordable way to improve room ventilation. This valve is suitable for all types of plastic windows: hinged and hinged.

Step-by-step instructions for installing a supply ventilation valve in a plastic window

Let's take a closer look at the valve installation process. Installation does not take long and does not require any special skills.

To install the ventilation valve you will need:

  • the valve itself is included;
  • stationery knife;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver;
  • ruler or prepared template.

All parts required for valve installation are included in the kit. The kit includes the valve itself 35 centimeters long, one piece of seal 35 cm long, two seals 16 cm long, three plugs for attaching the valve, self-tapping screws.

Step 1. Determining the valve installation location... The ventilation valve is located at the top of the sash. Roughly in the middle of the flap, mark the location of the valve with a ruler (or attaching a prepared template 35 cm long). In narrow sashes, you may have to move to the side so as not to get on the window fittings.

Determine the location of the valve on the leaf

Step 2. Removing a typical seal between labels. Carefully with a knife, cuts are made on both sides and the seal is easily removed from the groove.

We take out the seal from the groove

Step 3. Installing anchoring dowels... Three fastening dowels are inserted into the groove in which a typical seal was located (with the wider side of the jacket down). They will serve to attach the valve to the leaf. Two dowels at the edges and one in the middle.

Installed dowels for valve fastening

Step 4. Valve installation. For the convenience of fixing the valve on the leaf, double-sided tape is pre-applied to the valve. The protective film is removed from the tape. The valve is glued with tape in the desired position.

Removing the protective film of double-sided tape

Step 5. Fastening the valve to the window sash. We attach the valve to the profile using self-tapping screws, screwing them into the previously installed dowels through the valve mounting holes. Now the valve is securely fixed with tape and self-tapping screws.

We fix with self-tapping screws

Step 6. Insert a new seal. Instead of a typical seal, we insert two 160 mm seals between the valve mountings, which are included in the kit. The valve on the bundle is installed.

Insert seals 160 mm long

Step 7. Replacing a typical seal on the frame. The valve requires an air supply to function. To do this, it is necessary to replace the standard gasket with the gasket from the kit. Mark a 350 mm segment on the frame, exactly opposite the installed valve. Cut out the existing seal and insert the seal from the kit in its place.

Insert a new seal into the groove

This is how the seal on the frame now looks. Replacing a typical seal with a narrower one provides a gap between the frame and the sash through which fresh air enters the room. At the same time, the changes made do not affect the regular operation of the window sash in any way.

Do-it-yourself installation of the window valve is complete. Now you can adjust the required level of air flow using the slider. The extreme right position fully opens the damper blade and corresponds to the greatest air flow. The left valve position closes the valve.

Adjusting the air flow with the slider

The extreme left position of the slider (until it clicks) is intended for servicing the valve and is not used in everyday use; you cannot close the window at this position of the slider, because this could damage the valve.

That's all the rules for installing and operating a ventilation window valve.
